The Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA®) has recently launched Health Promotion Practitioner registration. Practitioners working to promote health and prevent illness can now apply to become an IUHPE Registered Health Promotion Practitioner. The AHPA VIC/TAS Branch invites you to attend this free event to learn more about registration and the benefits for your organisation and your staff.

THE MASTERCLASS
 
Much has been written about the quality chasm in healthcare; the gap between our knowledge and our practice.
 
Join us for a two-day course that will 'unpack' how implementation science combines scientific disciplines to help explain approaches that enable people to adopt change in complex health systems.
 
Aimed at health professionals, researchers and students, policy makers and front-line clinicians who seek guidance and inspiration on healthcare improvement.
 
During the masterclass, we will review conceptual frameworks and explore core implementation components and demonstrate how implementation science can be combined with healthcare improvement to improve outcomes for service users and the community.

The purpose of this two-day program is to inspire, encourage and support women in healthcare and research to reach their full career potential. This program will explore equal opportunity, capacity, capability building and career strategic planning as well as providing supportive networks and partnerships.

Health Promotion & Public Health Careers Night 2019

The Annual Health Promotion & Public Health Careers Night 2019 held by the Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA), Public Health Association Australia (PHAA), Australia, Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM) and Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA) will provide students and early career health promotion and public health professionals with the opportunity to hear from and network with successful professionals in the field and gain insight into the diverse career opportunities available to them; including local government, not-for-profit, health, research and education. Refreshments, light supper and networking at the end of the evening.

Putting Community Voices Into Community Health-Health Promotion Consultations

The Victorian Department of Health have initiated discussion with the sector to develop new Guidelines for Community Health-Health Promotion to be released on 1 July 2022.

The Department is also developing Community Health – Health Promotion Frameworks 2021-25. The Guidelines and Framework provide directions for practice (delivery) and evaluation on three health promotion priorities: healthy eating; active living; reduction of harm from tobacco (and e-cigarettes).

We would like to hear what these proposed changes mean for you and the practice of community based health promotion for Victoria into the future.
