Breaking News: AHPA approved to become National Accreditation Organisation for Health Promotion Practitioners

Health Promotion professionals across Australia will soon have the opportunity to be accredited as a Health Promotion Practitioner. In a major boost for the credibility and profile of the Health Promotion profession in Australia, the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) has formally approved AHPA’s application to become the National Accreditation Organisation for Australia.

After several years of groundwork by the AHPA Professionalisation Committee and extensive consultation with members, the AHPA Board endorsed the successful application which will see Australia adopt the internationally recognised IUHPE accreditation system. AHPA is working to set up the systems and infrastructure required to support practitioners during the accreditation system roll out. We will pilot the practitioner application process over coming months, with a view to launching the accreditation system in the fourth quarter of 2016.
