The Engaging Men: Male Health Promotion Program will equip allied health, human service, education, community workers and industry professionals with knowledge and skills to work more effectively with males, with the aim of improving the health, psychological, educational and social outcomes for them.

No previous experience or knowledge is required - only a willingness to learn, explore and grow.

Presented in partnership with the Australian Health Promotion Association (QLD) this skills based workshop will focus on public health advocacy concepts, frameworks and core skills to increase the success of your advocacy practice and strategies. The workshop facilitator will lead the group through case studies and practical activities to enable you to create your own tailored advocacy plan to achieve your desired change.

After a successful Students Career Pathway event last year, the QLD branches of AHPA & the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) are joining together again for another year! This event is for students, people early in their career, or anyone interested in a career in public health or health promotion.

AHPA Qld Branch have four professional development scholarships
available to support health promotion practitioners and students with funding
to pursue training and development opportunities. The branch will be offering four
scholarships to be utilised for professional development activity within the
next 12 months.

The QLD Branch of the Australian Health Promotion Association has developed this award
to recognise outstanding leadership in the area of health promotion.

Uncertainties and ambiguities have always played a role in our lives. Clearly over the last year or so we have in varying individual degrees experienced an acute dose of it. Becoming emotional fit means we learn how to become even more emotionally flexible and adaptable. Becoming emotional fit means we gain a deeper sense of clarity of who we are, what matters,what doesn’t matter and what shouldn’t matter.
