The 17th IFEH World Congress on Environmental Health will be hosted in Perth, Western Australia.

This six-week online course will run from 20 May to 30 June 2024 and includes self-paced online modules with video tutorials, interviews, podcasts, reading materials, and discussion forums, allowing you to learn at your own pace with a community of like-minded health promotion practitioners.

This is the first of two new courses delivered by Curtin University on behalf of AHPA® to support the Australian health promotion workforce. The second course to be held in 2025 will focus on health promotion advocacy theories and strategies. Successful completion of both courses will be recognised as the equivalent of a unit in Curtin’s postgraduate public health degrees.

AHPA members: $95 
Cost is subsidised by the Australian Government’s Health Peak and Advisory Bodies Program Grant 2022-2025 funding.

Non-members: $220.

SiREN Symposium 2024 is being held in Perth and online.

The SiREN Symposium is a biennial event for individuals and organisations dedicated to preventing and reducing the impacts of sexually transmissible infections and blood-borne viruses. The Symposium showcases evidence-based practice, and provides an opportunity for cross-sector networking and collaboration.

SIREN's annual symposium this year will be themed "Getting to zero: Community and workforce actions for the elimination of HIV, hepatitis C and congenital syphilis transmission" The symposium will exhibit recent developments in evidence-based practice for the sexual health and blood-borne virus sector. Attendees will  have the opportunity to hear from a broad range of engaging speakers and meet with other agencies and organisations, providing the opportunity for cross-sector networking and collaboration.

This Symposium is a great opportunity for anyone who is working in the sexual health sector, specifically those with an interest in preventing and reducing the transmission and impact of sexually transmissible infections and blood-borne viruses.

This workshop, presented by Anita Brown-Major from Cliterate and Thrive Rehab, will target those working with high school students. She will speak about the implications of body physiology on consent and provide education on vulva and labia diversity, clitoris structure, body physiology, and neuropathways. The webinar will use the Cliterate model as a practical and interactive tool to enable conversation and engagement. There may be some interactive activities, so come prepared with some plasticine or paper you can draw on!
