Dean has been at Flinders University since January 2015 arriving after 10-years in New Zealand – and the UK prior to that. He is an active researcher and publisher where his main focus lies in health promotion and health education theory and practice, health policy, public health and primary health care – especially WHO Settings-based Health Promotion networks. He has over 200 theoretical/research publications in these fields and extensive experience of reviewing and advising for over 40 journal panels – such as Health Promotion International, Health Education, Health Education Research, Health Education & Behavior, Global Health Promotion, Health Policy and Preventative Medicine. Dean is an
Associate Editor for BMC Public Health. His PhD was an epistemology of health promotion as it related to clinical theory, policy and practice issues.
