Ben has an academic background in health science with a double major in health promotion and health services management at Charles Darwin University. Ben has been a member of AHPA since 2015 and is currently employed at Menzies School of Health in the Alcohol and Other Drugs, Gambling (AODG) unit. He has supported over $2 million in competitive research grants and evaluation consultancies. This includes a range of research and capacity building projects relating to health literacy, Indigenous health, social and emotional wellbeing and youth justice reinvestment.
Ben is a born local in the NT with fluent community and intercultural awareness, and acquires strong diverse workplace experiences in healthcare services, including patient care, medical records and administration, emergency provisions, and intensive care training. He devotes his time to the study of wellness and is passionate about understanding the role of plant-based nutrition for optimal health and aspires to bring nutrition into medical education and research.
