Miriam is currently a Health Promotion Officer at the University of Sydney. Her role is to promote the health of international students and improve their access to health care. Part of this work has involved starting a Peer Health Education program where students are empowered to promote the health of their peers.
Currently, the program has focused on mental health promotion of international students, which has involved staff and students sharing their mental health journey in a series of videos to reduce stigma and encourage help seeking.
Previously to this role Miriam has worked at Youth Solutions working to promote health and reduce drug and alcohol related harm in young people in the Macarthur and Wingecarribee regions of NSW. Miriam has also worked at Western Sydney University - The College, Go 4 Fun, and Life Education.
