Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. We are proudly celebrating 170 years of service to the community. Services include Aged Residential Care, Assessment Referral and Individual Support Services, Community Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, Youth and Family Services and Holocaust Survivors Programs.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated person to join the Individual and Family Support team to help develop, implement and evaluate a range of primary prevention and community education activities to support the health and well-being of the Victorian Jewish community. This position is part time and based at our St Kilda Rd office, with activities delivered across the community. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who understands the value of tailored and innovative health promotion resources for culturally diverse and/or faith-based audiences.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

Lead the implementation and evaluation of Shivyon, a two year family violence primary prevention projectContribute to the development and implementation of a range of primary prevention and community education activitiesDeliver professional development activities and training to a variety of audiences in the Victorian Jewish communityEngage with stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds, including Jewish community leaders, organisations and relevant health promotion networks

To be successful in this role you will have:

A passion for health and education, with a strong commitment to the principles of gender equity, social justice and cultural safetyTertiary qualification in health promotion, community development or other relevant disciplineA thorough understanding of health promotion frameworks, particularly with respect to family violenceDemonstrated experience in project managementExcellent verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skillsA willingness to build a strong understanding of the needs of the Victorian Jewish community
