Jenn Lacy-Nichols is a Commercial Determinants of Health Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne whose program of work focusses on corporations, politics and health.
Jennifer's research interests include corporate power, commercial political practices, corporatisation of the food system, privatisation and equity, and the political benefits of corporate social responsibility. Her research is driven by a concern that a small number of powerful commercial actors and individuals control a disproportionate amount of the world's resources, and their activities often drive poor health and health inequities.
Her current portfolio of work includes helping to coordinate a new Lancet Series (chaired by Rob Moodie and co-convened by the University of Melbourne and VicHealth) and working at VicHealth in their Harmful Industry portfolio to develop an approach to monitor and mitigate the harmful practices of “harmful industries".
