Gemma has worked within health services and across large organisations in the resources, tertiary and not-for-profit sectors for the past 15 years. Involved in teams securing successful grants of more than 2 million dollars of research and practice funding, she has undertaken a range of health promotion roles from managing state-wide mass-media campaigns, implementing education programs in prisons and supporting organisations to evaluate interventions. Gemma is currently Course Coordinator for postgraduate health promotion, Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Research Fellow with the Collaboration for Evidence, Research and Impact in Public Health at Curtin University where she is currently completing her PhD. She is also a Director of Viva Health, a health promotion consultancy based in WA. Gemma is the current national President for AHPA, a role she has held since 2013. She has been involved in AHPA at a state and national level since 2005 and has held roles as both the President and Treasurer of the WA Branch.
