Maryam Abdul Razak
Committee Member

Maryam Abdul Razak is a passionate public health professional with extensive experience working both in Australia and internationally. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Australia and has a career spanning roles such as Senior Education Executive at the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, where she promoted cancer prevention, led smoking cessation programs for under-served communities and represented the Society at international conferences.

Her journey includes key roles at the Cancer Council WA and the Heart Foundation, where she was involved in workplace health promotion and healthy lifestyle programs. Maryam also worked as a Training and Communities of Practice Coordinator at the WA Primary Health Alliance, driving quality improvement in primary care.

Currently, she is a Senior Research Officer at the University of Western Australia's Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health, where she works on knowledge translation, collaborating with stakeholders and communities to co-design training toolkits and health promotion resources on dementia education and prevention for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Alongside her role, Maryam is pursuing a Master of Public Health.

Her key areas of interest include chronic disease and injury prevention through healthy eating and active living, workplace health promotion, promoting safer communities and improving health outcomes in CaLD and Indigenous populations.
